Thank You, Lancaster and Depew: Wrapping Up the 2026 Lawn Care Season

Freshly mowed residential lawn in autumn

The 2026 mowing season is almost behind us. Our final mowing day is Saturday, October 24th, and after that the equipment gets cleaned, serviced, and put away until spring. Before we close out the year, we want to say something that doesn't get said often enough in this business: thank you.

Thank You for Trusting Us With Your Property

A lawn is one of the most visible parts of a home or business, and handing it over to someone else is a real act of trust. Every homeowner and commercial client in Lancaster and Depew who chose North Lawn Care this year gave us the opportunity to do work we're proud of, and we don't take that lightly. Whether you were with us from the first cut in spring or joined mid-season, we appreciate you.

We're a small, locally operated company. That means the people mowing your lawn are the same people answering your calls and texts, and your feedback goes directly to the person running the business. Thank you for the kind words, the referrals to neighbors, and the patience on the weeks when Western New York weather didn't cooperate.

What Happens Between Now and April

Our final cuts run through October 24th. After that, there's no more mowing until spring, and a few things happen on our end during the off-season:

  • Equipment servicing. Engines, decks, and cutting equipment are serviced and put away properly so they're ready for the first cut of the year.
  • Blade maintenance. Blades are sharpened or replaced so we start the 2027 season with a clean cutting edge.
  • Schedule planning. We build next season's route and schedule over the winter, which is why early bookings matter.

We'll be back in April 2027, ready for the first cuts of the new season.

Local Expert Tip

Before the season fully closes, keep leaves from piling up on your lawn. A thick, wet layer of leaves blocks light and air from reaching the grass and holds moisture against the turf, which invites disease over winter. In Lancaster and Depew, where leaf drop often peaks right as temperatures cool and rain increases, regular raking or mulching leaves into the lawn through late fall helps your grass come out of winter in much better shape.
